Beware Be Aware campaign
Food poisoning during summer soared as a result of food not being cooked properly during BBQs. Contamination from raw food items were also a very high on the list. The Food Standards Agency wanted a campaign to inform and bring awareness to the general public regarding the dangers of food not handled properly.
The term ‘Beware Be Aware’ informs the public to beware of the dangers and at the same time be aware how to avoid them. Food items were used to create ‘danger warning’ images such as a skull and crossbones. The images created were bold and strong and got alot of attention from people just walking by.
A pack would be sent out with a fridge magnet, a leaflet regarding how to handle food properly as well as a few useful but fun items for a younger audience such as a fridge thermometer and a mobile sticker that was rotatable.19
