A little bit about me

Once upon a time, there was a guy called Colin...
Helllooooo I'm Colin

My name’s Colin Foo (MCSD). I’m a Freelance Graphic Designer based in London with a huge appetite for all things creative and wonderful! My curious and experimental nature, combined with over 17 years of design agency experience, continues to equip me with the passion, understanding and capabilities needed to deliver effective and award winning creative projects.

I know I’m suppose to sell myself here and tell you how great I am but all I can really say is that I love what I do, and when you love what you do, you’ll be great at it.

My skills

My skills range from problem solving through design, illustration and motion graphics to creating almost anything that would contribute to a good design solution. I create with InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Dreamweaver, After Effects, iStopmotion, pen, pencil, ink and anything I can get my hands on. I love getting my hands dirty and trying new ways of communicating visually.

My super power

For each new project I can offer strong skills in Art Direction, Design, Illustration and Animation Motion Graphics. And by keeping up to date on industry trends and changes, I am able to apply my creative skills across a broad – and ever shifting – range of media. However, the skill that I am most grateful for having cultivated, is that of being able to fluently build an understanding of a client’s need and in turn, those of their audience too. Building a strong collaborative client relationships is what I love to achieve, as I know when this happens, amazing creative results will occur.

I understand brand integrity and work closely with photographers, developers and copywriters to ensure it is maintained across other media including digital publications, videos and Apps.

My Qualifications

Member of the Chartered Society of Designers (MCSD)

BA HONS in Graphic Design – Central Saint Martins London

HND in Graphic Design – The London Insitute (Central Saint Martins)

But most importantly, I have a love for design.

Outside work

When I’m not at work, I tend to create my own personal projects. To see what I get up to, please check out my Personal Projects in the portfolio section.
Apart from that, I do capoeira, fire poi and fire staff. I also enjoy camping, rock climbing and mountain biking (No… not the serious stuff). I am also a regular volunteer at my local Soup Kitchen for the past 12 years and also contribute my design skills toward this organisation.
